Beijing New International Exhibition Center Phase II, located in the city's Shunyi District adjacent to Capital International Airport, is the largest and most functionally comprehensive convention and exhibition venue in the capital. Drawing inspiration from the glazed texture of traditional Chinese ceramic roof tiles, the architecture unfolds the imagery of a "Purple-Gold Ribbon" — nine exhibition halls, one conference center and one hotel seamlessly interwoven by sinuous ribbon-like link corridors, symbolizing the connectivity embodied in the Belt and Road Initiative. The hallmark of the Purple-Gold Ribbon lies in its fluid, double-curved metal façades: clad in a bronze-gold skin punctuated by monumental recessed windows, the exterior shifts in vitreous luster and rhythmic motion under sunlight. The east and west wings rise in symmetry along a north-south axis, while shared courtyards, cafés and outdoor public spaces cascade along the central spine in alternating rhythm, gifting the Beijing skyline with an architectural landmark that harmonizes rational order with sensuous expression. Advanced curtain wall technology, parametric surface modeling and standing-seam aluminum roofing converge into a convention flagship spanning over 610,000 square meters — graceful in silhouette, commanding in presence, a purple-gold ribbon dancing weightlessly across the city's horizon.
