The Belgrade National Stadium (Serbian National Football Stadium) is a national landmark project built by Serbia to bid for major sporting events and cooperate with the 2027 Belgrade Professional World Expo. The project is constructed by a Chinese enterprise and positioned as a modern multifunctional sports stadium that meets the top standards of FIFA/UEFA. Serbia previously lacked modern stadiums that meet the highest standards of UEFA, and the new stadium will directly serve as the home ground for the national team.As the core part of the World Expo supporting project group, it forms a new landmark in Belgrade together with the adjacent exhibition center.The project is a key project of China Serbia infrastructure cooperation under the framework of the "the Belt and Road". The Chinese side is responsible for investment, financing and construction. Serbian President Vucic has repeatedly stressed its importance for national development.
